“Le Dodici Querce”, is a family-owned, beautifully restored private villa, that is situated within a 2-acre private park located on a mountainside 1 ½ miles above the Medieval walled Etruscan city of Cortona. Awaiting you off the steep unpaved tree lined road is complete privacy, comfortable accommodations, and spectacular views below. Surrounding the Villa is a private park where ancient oak and cypress trees grow. The Villa has spectacular views of Cortona, the mountains, and Lake Trasimeno. The only sounds you will hear are the many birds that populate the park. As you stroll through the gardens, you can smell the fragrance of lavender, roses, gardenias, rosemary, and bay. There is also a small private chapel, filled with antiques, located within the gardens. You will find “Le Dodici Querce” comfortable as well as beautiful. The 3-bedroom Villa has been tastefully decorated with Tuscan antiques purchased from local markets. The spacious rooms allow for comfort and privacy. In the morning, you can drink your espresso on the terrace while watching the sun rise over the mountains. In the afternoons, you may relax in the sun while watching the birds and butterflies. Evenings can be enjoyed sipping Italian wine while watching the sun set over Lake Trasimeno and the mountains. If you desire an active vacation, Cortona has many sports and cultural activities easily available. The villa is near several large and small towns where you will find local markets, beautiful churches, interesting museums, antique and specialty shops, clothing and shoe stores, numerous restaurants with both indoor and outdoor dining, and friendly people. Cortona, located in Tuscany, is 2130 ft above the Val di Chiana Valley. ”Le Dodici Querce” is easily accessible by car from Cortona. The owner does not speak English, but a brochure, filled with instructions about the Villa, is located in the living room. Directions:By car: Cortona is located in the province of Arezzo, within Tuscany. Cortona can be easily reached from the Autostrada, “A1” – A1 is the Milan-Rome motorway and is a toll road. Take the Valdichiana Exit and follow the signs towards Perugia (S.S 71). Exit in the direction of Cortona. You will go through several small towns. When arriving in Cortona, follow the signs towards Hotel Cory’s. Le Dodici Querce is 1 km from Hotel Cory’s. Detailed directions to “Le Dodici Querce” from Cory’s will emailed to you before your arrival. By Train: Euro-Star train Milan. Rome line to Florence or Arezzo and from either station connection for Camucia or Terontola. From Rome there is a direct train to Terontola-Cortona. There is taxi service, or bus service, available to Cortona from the Terontola train station (11 km) or the Camucia train station (5 km).
